Chip Away Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 October 2026

Chip Away ("the game") is made by Itiel Maimon ("we", "us"). This page explains what information the game uses and why. Contact: [email protected]

The short version

  • There are no accounts. You do not give us your name, email or password to play.
  • Your progress, settings and Museum are stored on your device.
  • The game shows ads and sells optional in-app purchases. Those services are run by third parties and use some data about your device, described below.
  • We never sell your personal information.

Information stored on your device

Your level progress, coins, boosters, Museum collection, daily streak, and settings (sound, haptics, large text, colour-blind symbols) are saved locally on your device using standard app storage. We do not receive this data. If you uninstall the game, it is deleted (unless your phone's backup feature restores it).

Advertising

The game shows ads through Google Mobile Ads (AdMob), which may load ads from partner ad networks. To show and measure ads, these services may collect or use:

  • your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android),
  • your IP address and the approximate location inferred from it (we do not request GPS or precise location),
  • device and app information (model, OS version, language, app version),
  • ad interaction information (which ads were shown, tapped or watched).

Where required (for example in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland), we ask for your consent with Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) before personalised ads are shown. You can change your choice in Settings under Privacy and consent. On iOS you can also decline tracking in the system prompt or in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Settings > Privacy > Ads. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalised.

In-app purchases

Purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not receive your payment details. The game checks with the store which purchases you own (for example No Ads) so that it can unlock them and restore them on request.

Analytics and crash reports

We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (Google) to understand how the game is used and to fix crashes. This may include app interactions (for example, which levels are played), device model, OS version, crash logs, and an app-instance identifier. This data is not linked to your name or email.

Children

Chip Away is intended for adults and general audiences and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will help.

Data retention and sharing

We do not run our own servers that store personal data about you. Data processed by advertising, analytics and store providers is kept according to their own policies. We share nothing with anyone else except as needed to provide these services, to comply with law, or to protect our rights.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR or CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. Because we hold no account data, most of this happens on your device and through the settings above.

Data deletion

  • Local data: uninstall the game, or clear its storage in your phone's settings. This removes your progress, settings and Museum.
  • Advertising and analytics data: reset your advertising ID in your device settings and withdraw consent in the game's Settings (Privacy and consent).
  • Requests: email [email protected] from any address with the subject "Data deletion request" and tell us your device type; if you can, include the app-instance or advertising ID shown by your device. We will reply within 30 days and ask the relevant providers to delete data we can identify.

International transfers

Our service providers (such as Google) may process data in countries other than yours. They do so under their own safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date above, and for significant changes we will tell you in the game or in the store listing.
